web site provides information about industrial pipe labeling, focusing
on two areas: pipe labeling in the pulp and paper industry and pipe
labeling for ammonia refrigeration systems. It provides information
about the standards that apply to each, as well as information about
pipe labeling equipment, supplies and software.

be able to quickly identify pipes and their contents, as well as
the direction of flow. The following standards have been designed
to accomplish this.
The International
Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) bulletin #114 - "Guidelines
for Identification of Ammonia Refrigeration Piping and System Components"
applies to systems using ammonia for cooling. IIAR is the professional
organization for users of ammonia refrigeration systems. The link
